Looking to upgrade the current intercooler on my 333i turbo. Currently it is sat behind the headlamps which is obviously far from ideal.

The 333i has a different radiator from standard and as such I am not sure if I can follow what you guys have done? Clearance between my radiator and crank pully is still quite good which I guess means I have not got as much room out front?

Also my car has Air con where the condensors are mounted behind the drivers lights. This may be an issue with the pipes. Currently I have a pipe running behind the front spoiler.

Any information/links very much appreciated.

quite a few people use a volvo one with a similar design to my saab one below, i have recently got a better all alloy pace racing one for £30! - only slight mods with the welder needed to fit it behind the bumper for mine

as for the boost pipes the left side (turbo) runs in the engine bay and just dips down and under the front rail - whilst the right side loops up and through a hole in the metal plate under the headlight area

if you search the e30 intercooler on google image there loads of ways to do it

Have you got anymore pictures for me? Is yours an M30 and what engine mounts are you using as mine are the alpina ones and not sure if the engine sits forward compared to the custom mounts. Have looked on the wiki and have seen that some people remove split the pully on the aircon would prefer not to do this. But if needs must prefer a bit cooler induction.

Thanks

no more pictures and its not a m30, youll have to check out the m30 section for more info as i don't know a lot

As for your intercoolers placement, it would be alot better to put the intercooler infront of the radiator as the cooler will just heat soak the rad dropping its efficiency and your bhp

without seeing how you radiator differs from standard its hard to tell if you can fit one infront but i reckon you can.

e30 radiators sit on the inside of the front/chassis facing the engine, whilst my intercooler sits in the gap infront of the front chassis, just behind the bumper section -hope that helps
