Which diff for a 2.8

Hi
Currently putting a 2.8 into my 2.0 touring and wondering which is the best ratio diff for all round performance?
ill be using the 328 gearbox and have the standard 320 diff which I believe is either 4.45 or 4.27, what should I be looking for?

E36 328i engine and box? The 328i uses a 2.93:1 ratio diff iirc, so anything from a 2.93 to a 3.25 would be ok. You could probably get away with a 3.46:1 if you like acceleration and don't mind it revving at speed.
