anyone go today ?

was working but saw a few bmw offerings, a lovely looking silver m3 ,a diamond schwartz tech 1 with houndstooth, another (i think) delphin grey with a tech 2 spoiler 8O and tech 1 skirts, only saw it briefly drive out

and a 4 door e28 in delphin, with a body kit and m5 badges looked nice

and a whole host of amazing cars, delorean, labo gallardo (i think) and all sorts of others

we should organise a zone meet there, and a tour etc, who would be interested ?

Hello
Yes I was there, the one with the tech2 spoiler on a tech1. Don't worry it's getting sorted. Ive just bought one and it's the right colour so can just bolt it on. (I work at RR so was part of the employee enthusiasts club). Was wondering who's the black tech1 was, I left a note on his/her screen.

hello mate, you work there permanently ?

i work there quite regular security, was down by the gate in the land rover today, i saw you drive out, everyone was leaving sooner than expected so i didnt get time to have a proper look round but was happy just sat there watching all the cars drive off towards the track and see/hear them all driving as opposed to parked up

on david monks list, a black tech 1 was top of the list, when i was chatting to him about his 2002 (looks super) i mentioned i have a tech 1 and he said ones comming showed me the list, dont know if that was yours ? or the other fellas, bit gutted i didnt get the chance to come chat, the black one looked lovely i really wanted to check it out

do you drive it in to work ? (not seen it in the car park yet)

Hi Polsta
Yeah worked there for 9 years. I'm in t-55. (Andrew Atkinson). Look me up when your in. I do bring it in but park in the B10 car park. It needs a bit of work mianly interior stuff. I didn't see the black TVR you are talking about but sounds interesting. So was the black original car part of the RR car club?

What's the state of your tech1 like. Don't happened to have a original exhaust system by any chance?

was an awsome sight- sat there in the land rover by main gates, just watching all the cars come/go, when they all left they all went to the race track- all the cars giving it the beans too, some spectacular cars

being piston heads, i was expecting more a street level showing, but it was all top banana cars and super cars, astons, bentleys, ferraris, rollers, tvrs, all sorts, cars to and throw all morning hooning past, also a load of vintage motorbikes comming from the race track with drivers all period dressed, looked superb

from that and the festival of speed, (a similar showing of cars) what i cant help but love, are the porsches , out of all the cars some of them sound and look the best, real grunty raw torquey sort of throaty sound, hearing all the different ones really giving it some, a fair few GT3 and GT3 RS, old 911a, carreras, the ones in boxters looked cheap LOL , is quite a sound and sight, id love an old school 911

Ah....that would be me then with the black tech 1. I've sent you a text Andy, thanks for the note under the windscreen, on my return to the car, curiosity obviously got the better of some people as I saw a few reading it!

This was the furthest I'd travelled to a Sunday Service (a 240 mile around trip) but really enjoyed the morning just a shame that by the time I'd come out of the factory tour the car park was half empty. Would have enjoyed having a chat with the both of you swapping experiencies.

My tech 1 is by no means perfect (far from it in fact) but it's just a case of getting stuff done as and when time allows, the old girl crossed over 193,000 miles on the way back home yesterday in convoy with my mate's Lotus Esprit S4S.

Thanks again for the comments especaily as my car was worth a much as the wheel nuts on most of those parked around it in the inner square.

Hopefully we'll get a chance in the future to catch up as mine isn't going anywhere.

nice to see you on the zone phil, i did wonder and if local

be nice to see some pics and details of the car ? interior etc , when you arrived i saw it and the houndstooth, you go there early and was hoping id get chance to come and chat and see it, and was hopoing youd not leave by time i could, i was planning to collar you on your way out if possible , but the i was sat eating lunch in the landy and you drove past, shame

being bmw owned, a good e30 sunday meet there would be awsome to get a real good showing, the courtyard filled with e30s would be a splendid sight

Hi phil. I got your text thanks. I was hoping you would be more local. Great original car you have there. Love the hounds tooth interior. I only spotted an aftermarket exhaust as the only mods. Mines a bit more mod'ed lowered with bk wheels, tech2 rear spoiler and a massive exhaust. I've only had it a few months and am in the process of de chaving it. Basically taking it back to standard. I managed to bag a tech1 rear spoiler of eBay Sunday eve so that's a good start. Good luck with the tech 1.

Here's how it looked, was crazy in the flesh, the jagged bits look a lot crazier in the flesh than the pics, very bat mobile like

Image[/url]

A funny moment was a car pulls up, it was passes to get in the main show car park pre arranged , this car pulls up, and bearing in mind it was security nowt to do with ph, and they have a pass displayed, he was asked have you got a pass ? The driver goes "I'm zorba the great"

Brilliant !!!

Hi Andy, no I'm afraid not, but I'm a regular on the Pistonheads Sunday Service outings. It's getting there, mine sounds similar to your's when I bought it 5 years ago, with BK alloys, after market air filter, white indicators lens (not there'a anything wrong with any of that) but I wanted to get mine back to a more standard look. Although as you've noticed it still has the stainless steel aftermarket exhaust, the 40mm drop and a BTB 6 branch manifold. My biggest issue is the dreaded rust as I've already had the floor welded, one sill replaced, both arches and work on the roof.

As you may have gathered it's my weekend car and during the 5 years I've owned it, it's been to France 3 times (including twice to Le Mans 24 hour race including this year), holiday's around the country and even appeared in the line up at the BMW Car Club's Gaydon festival for the 30th anniversary for the E30.

Best of luck with your restoration and try and enjoy it along the way (not always easy). I'll also try if i can get some pictures up as requested.

Phil
