Is it a big job to change the normal 325 steering rack to a better one - e36 evo or an e46 rack?
How much and what sort of modification would be needed to fit one?
Steering rack upgrade..

DanThe does the pipes and conversion parts.
Baring being a bit fiddly with the hybrid UJ build, it's pretty simple to do, and transforms the car

If you go for an E46 067 option and get all the extra ancilaries for the modification off Dan along with e34 UJ's and Burton Escort engine mounts. I'd say it cost me around £280-£290 in parts. You could probably get the price down if you hunted hard for the rack.
The job itself is fairly easy. Just get the car jacked up as high as possible, I had the rear of the car up on little ramps the the front up higher on stands which provided plenty of space.
Worth all the hard work, is an excellent up grade.
