Hi there,

Months ago i was planning to build a M20b24, sadley i canceld that project the parts that i need where not cheap or difficult to get.
so i changed my mind and i started with building a M20B23.
My idea is not making the most fastest 2.3l but more just a engine thats in my tast and budget. so here is the list with my ideas and after that i will post some pic's.

My inspiration started when i saw the Hartge H23 what extacly is 2.3l with high comp. pistons, wilder cam, headers and some head work.
I hope to get more horses then hartge claimd on there h23 or alpina's C1 2.3l. there whore running on L-jet or K-jettronic so i hope that the standalone ecu and some other changes bring me higher then there 170hp add the crank.

so fingers crossd

The list:

Rpm limit around .... Depends where the power will be
Raise the comp. till around 1:10.5 or 11
lighter and balancend pistons
lighter and balancend rods
balancend crank
lighter Flywheel
catcams 285 cam
36/42mm valves
30/45/70 valve job
some poort working
stainless headers
34.5mm custom made ITB
standalone ecu
bigger injectors

Pic's

so where do we start....

mean while i got my prototype piston back to check valve clearence. the right piston is from a m20b20. its also a lot heavier then my own prototype piston.

but my piston is going back to the shop for making the exhuast valve clearence bigger (2mm deep)but this pic is after i tested the clearence. the inlet valve hass 5 mm clearence so im gonna do the same with the exhaust valve so i can lower the dek bij 1mm or more.
