I can't find a thread about sourcing new the plastic coated alloy trim that embeds in the windscreen seal.

A fitter tells me the Mini trim is similar but will be slightly raised and the join cover won't go on. This sounds ok but if it is still available new I would prefer to do that. Is there a supplier?

Mini trim would look gash. Ive had some mini trim in my unit before and it looked nothing like the BMW one.

I have some good chrome window inserts available for the front and rear screens. Pm me if your after some

Thanks for the common sense reminder! I rang them - 30 quid new from BMW is not a bad price.

Think it was about 40 quid thats with the clip at bottom. Had to get someone with the tool to fit it though.

That is a beauty, mate. Something for me to aspire to on mine. I totally love the colour scheme too, the black and the brown check. Is it in concours nick or close? Mine looks great in pics but there is plenty of work to do:

30 ? Cheap ! Is that for a complete front screen piece ? In sure it was more than that when I enquirerd

The condition of this and all black trim/rubber on an e30 really make the difference in it being a nice car or not, they look much better when its really nice

That is just the alloy strip, seal and clip not required.

You can add a new one without the tool, you've need a flat head screw driver, loads of spare finger tips and a massive bag of swear words. And a few hours :D I've done 2 cars front and back without the tool... Ive heard it can be done in seconds with the tool.

The tool is only a couple of quid, but if rather a pro do it, next time you see or call out an auto glass man get his number, most of em are up for a quick cash job

Looks very clean. What is its mileage?

I would love to go out in someone's timewarp car or nut and bolt restoration to see how far I can take mine in terms of handling, tightness, cabin noise etc.
