The electric hoods were apparently notoriously unreliable.
I have a 1997 Peugeot 306 Cabriolet, and the electric hood on that has recently packed up!

Indeed, they make it easier to put the roof up and down and are great when working properly, but rather embarassing/annoying when they don't!

Stripped roof motor when i bought mine, couldnt afford to repair/replace gears
So i have a little 2way switch on my drivers rear 1/4 pannel door card controling the horse shoe, then fold the roof manualy
Save time and ALOT of money

It's normally the cost of repairing/replacing a motor, about £150+ each second hand now
Mine used to work fine, retro-fitting it on another one soon

This is what I did too.DaveyB wrote:Stripped roof motor when i bought mine, couldnt afford to repair/replace gears

My thought was that I cannot rely on the roof fabric to fold properly every time and a new hood is around the £700 mark. My motors work fine, I had a broken pivot and a suspect control box, could have probably been fixed for under £100 but I couldn't see the point.
