Hi zoners,

Which oil do you all reccommend for my 3.91 LSD?

It is in my 318is which is used for motorway cruising and your occassional drive to town.

I have had a look at http://www.opieoils.co.uk and they reccommend the following:

Castrol Syntrax Limited Slip 75W 140 (Formerly SAF-XJ 75w-140)

Has anybody used this oil and or should I be looking at another oil?

Why wouldn't you use the oil recommended in the stickied post on the zone?

Can anybody confirm how much i am going to need?

e30zone wiki states 1.7 liters required for large (medium case dif)

a garage local thinks i am going to need 2.5 liters of oil to go in my 3.91 lsd.

Wiki is correct. Not-quite 2 bottle's worth, did mine a couple of weeks ago from dry. No way will you need 2.5 litres.

Me also and it used a mug less than 2L

About 1.7L I would say
