headlamp re build pre facelift

been working out the re building of the head lamps- on the pre facelift, on the fixed to lamp ajuster that doesnt remove/is pinned in - how on earth do you recoect the grey plastic nut bit to the ajuster handle ? the ones that are quite hard to pop off, how on earth do you push it back on ?

feels like it needs tapping with a hammer or something, but obviously you cant put any pressure like that on the lamp

cant seem to find any re build info on the wiki or anywhere

is that how it goes ? you screw the grey plastic bit on to the thread, then the casing- then push/pop the handle on from the other side ?
