Recently changed my rear springs because of a PO,s
decision to fit these.

Cable ties are my handiwork, to help remove the spring.

Was sitting like this before spring change.

Now sitting this way.

Now the options I seem to have are
1.Change the Front springs too.
2.Buy a complete new slightly lower set of springs.
3 Cut one coil off of the rear springs I have just fitted,
and lastly 4 fit bigger wheels to fill the space a bit.

Not keen on option 1 mainly because I don,t think it will
help that much as I,m not keen on the height it would sit at.

3 is a no go really as I changed to the new springs because it
didn,t feel right. Or has the spring I removed popped out
because too much was removed from it?

4 with the addition of 1 could be a solution but atm I,m
feeling my 14" steelies.

Which leaves option 2. Anyone know what springs would best
suit a lower height for an 1987 4 door, 318i M10 auto?

Rear springs should never, ever be cut. They have curly bits top and bottom to fit the bump stop(top)and the spring seat(bottom)

Front springs can have one complete coil cut off,if you really insist on this type of 'economy' lowering.

My favoured route is BMW supplied M-tec springs, they both lower slightly from stock(about -15mm)and stiffen a little as well.

If the rear springs are new, they will take up to 3k miles to settle to the height.
