There's a few small surface rust patches i want to treat, what's the quickest and easiest way to do this, sandpaper seems to take forever. I want to get it back to bare metal.
then would i zinc primer, spray and blend in with g3 when paints hardened?
best and quickest method of surface rust removal.

if you have a steady hand use a drill and a flapwheel (be carefull what grade you use) best way i have found of going back to bare metal in a controlled way without using a grinder, if its surface rust you shouldn't need to go back to bare metal, just remove the rust, prep and paint should be enough.

The only thing that rusts is bare metal, so its back to bare metal every time. Best tool is a twisted knot rotary wire brush in an angle grinder, to get the rust right out where it has etched into the steel surface.m8782538 wrote:if its surface rust you shouldn't need to go back to bare metal, just remove the rust, prep and paint should be enough.
