M42 timing case: metal gaskets

can the metal gaskets used on the early e36 M42 engines be re-used?

I'm doing an M42 head replacement and exchanging the timing case to delete the idler wheel sprocket.
the upper and lower case cover gaskets look in good condition and not bent or deformed.
HG, head bolts and crank nose oil seal will be replaced though.
