help!! mis fire problem

i've got a 89/plate 320i that had a idle problem ie. cutting out and idling erratick so changed the idle control valve plus gave it a complete service.
but now when the car is stationary in traffic it has a bad misfire which doesn't really clear but is fine when cold or constant driving just when idling.

yep deffo missing but not sure the cause though

Did you change the plugs? If so, check the gaps, check the resistance on the HT leads, check the rotor and the distributor cap for cracks or worn contacts. Can of fuel cleaner in the tank maybe. HTH
