New to the E30 world - have a few questions!

hello

i have recently purchased a 325 touring in good spec, but im new to E30s.

it has an LSD fitted, but needs reconditioning as i am not happy with it. it seems to skip quite a lot when manouvering, although it is definately not a welded diff as i used to own a Volvo with one and know what they feel like.

how would i go about finding somebdy to recon it, and would anybody know a rough price/timescale estimate?

are you sure it not just a welded diff,what checks have you made ? you would get clutch slip from an lsd no ....

are you sure its an lsd ie checked the tag on the diff ?

Sure it's not got an expensive 2 way in there? Had a Kaz 2 way LSD in my R32, and that used to skip and clunk as it was trying to lock up at slow speeds on tight turns

Suppose I should probably have a good look, where would I find the tag on the diff, and what should it say?

Look for a tag on the back plate,undo the bolt it's held on by clean it it up and hope it starts with an 'S'.

Yes. S = LSD and the numbers after that are the ratio. Bound to be so corroded you will struggle to read it.

That's a bit extreme, probably half the value of the car
