Fuel lines and carbon canister

I've just pulled the fuel lines from the shell to re-do them and there's a 3rd hardline that runs from the carbon canister (black) under the car back to the tank (and I think to the expansion tank).

I know people get rid of it but what about the hardline, do you also remove it or just leave it?

Or you can leave the vent hard line off and use a pre facelift short vent setup -

I like that better, are the studs present on a facelift (touring) shell?

That makes one of the lines that runs over the top of my tank redundant also?
