Since getting the idling sorted on my 318i Auto I've noticed when the car is in drive, the car and the interior all vibrate quite badly.
When I shift it back into Neutral or Park the vibrations stop and goes all silky smooth.
I don't think it's an idle problem, as it idles fine in my opinion and I've recently had the ICV cleaned and the TPS checked by pacerpete not so long ago.
Could this problem be due to worn engine mounts?
Would worn mounts cause vibrations when stationary foot on the brake in D, but then go smooth when shifted to N or P?
Engine mounts, gearbox mounts or something else?
TIA
Idle vibrations: engine mounts?

Have a look at you engine and gearbox mounts, both quite easy to replace and cheap.
Take a photo and post it here, get peoples opinion on their condition.

sounds like the mounts, i had a similar prob in my Merc 190 when in drive. Chaging the mounts and the centre carrier bearing (on the prop) eliminated the problem.
Unless the history details the mounts have been changed in the last few years, change them anyhow..it not expensive and straightford to undertake.
