i read somewhere on a thread that it was possible to use the e46 320d 6 speed gearbox, but cant remember what engine it bolted up to, if it was an m20 or m50/5x, anybody have any ideas? just been given a 320d box,

DanThe has a 6 speed box fitted to an M52, not sure what box it is.

Here's the thread for his car, sure it's mentioned in there - http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... highlight=

It sits straight on an M20 as the diesel is at the same angle

Custom prop, custom clutch, custom spigot bearing, custom linkage and custom mounting.
In short, its a right fookin faff.
The reasons I used the box were because it had only done a couple of thousand miles and was a bargain price, the 320Cd had only been out 2 years when I picked it up

thanks alot Danthe, iv got an m20 bottom end spare and now a 320d gearbox, so i have plenty of time to mess about with them both out of the car to see what works clutch wise etci can get the prop, linkage and mount done with out too much of a problem, inly thing i may struggle on is spigot bearing and clutch, could i use a brass bush turned down to the correct size, or will i be forever changing it ?
Again thanks a lot.

if we know the dimensions of the flywheel bore and the shaft them i am sure a bearing of some kind could be found or made up.
