Hi, My chromie 325 has a hole that has come through the bulkhead above the pedalbox, leaking water into the footwell. The hole has appeared around the bracket that the dash/ecu is mounted on, near where the cable comes through.
I wanted the zones thoughts on how much a good repair might cost. I'm competent at removing and installing the dash, so any work I need to pay for is basically the welding itself. Is there a panel available that is best bought for grafting in or is patching the best route? The rest of he car is in very good condition so a proper job is preferred to a cheap fix.
I also understand the other side of the bulkhead is likely to be frilly - I suspect that may be a challenge - is it worth doing or should I cut my losses? Sorry for a lack of pics, I have no camera capable.
Some welding required...

Depends on what the rest of the car is like my friend and what the car is worth to you. You would probably need to remove some soundproofing and get the dash out to do a decent job if you did the prep work it would take someone 1-2 hours to repair that hole but your probably going to find some more rust, I would have a good poke around under the fusebox and look in and around the scuttle panel, Also lift the carpet and look at the front footwells.
All i can offer for now.

These cars are always worth saving, whether it is financially viable and you can be happy spending a lot of money that you will never get back is another matter.
Chances are the rest of the car is frilly and this is where these cars are literally make or break.
I should add that the earlier chrome bumper cars are well worth the effort, they look great

How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.
