Has anyone redone their headlining recently? Can you still get the insulation/padding for front and rear from BMW? Or did you make your own foam/padding for the roof? If so what did you use?

There is a foam panel in the roof but whats wrong with the one you have? Headlining should come with 3mm foam backed, You can pick that up on ebay probably, Thats how i did my lining.

The one i have was butchered by the previous owner , but i got some ready to fit from BMW , was surprised to know they still carry the complete headlining as well but only in Grey.

They are still availible from BMW< I spoke to Cotsworld last year and they confirmed . what I did instead was order some silent coat insualtor, it is a closed cell foam which is backed and has the glue on it already . Much easier and cleaner to work with then the underfloor stuff from BMW.

I think car audio direct sells it in sheets.

bigwinn its a coupe.. i saw the backing foam from Schmiedmann , they still get it for you ( front and back pieces , as well as left and right rear columns).
ShaheenK thats not a bad idea , will explore that option
