Hi, its been a while since I was on the zone but I'm in real need of help.

I'm making a mess wiring the S52 engine into my E30 and i was thinking about scrapping all the wiring from the E30 (318i) and fitting all the wiring from the E36 M3 with bits lengthend and cut out for needless approch.

Can this be done?

I.e Fuel pump, power windows, transfer E36 clocks and and so on... or am I going to hit major brick walls with this? (I want to keep OBDII) and delete the likes of Traction control in the ECU and take out the ABS for an old skool feel.

Is it possible..?

wiring an s50 b32 engine into an e30 is not that difficult if your familiar/experienced with wiring,it sounds like you are not experienced and thus having difficulty" as you say making a mess". You would be in a much worse position if you tried to install the e36 vehicle loom into your car if you cannot sucsessfully wire the engine thats for sure! There is no major benefit to installing an e36 vehicle loom to your e30, a lot of time and effort for naff all gain, and an inexperienced person undertaking that type of job is pretty ridiculous as is the idea. Please no offence intended. (just a bit of common sense)

Personally I'd buy a loom from Dan and save yourself a load of chew.

Just wondered about the S52 as they are a US engine

As has been said above, fitting an E36 body loom is just making the job difficult.
Pm me if you want info on one of my looms, pics below of a zoners car with my loom

Slight differences in wiring diagrams depending on what model your car is. (318,320, 325, chromie or facelift etc. Many people get the engine started and often end up with issues like ecu reciveing no road speed signal and ecu in limp mode etc. worth investing time and effort in getting the wiring correct for you model, do it properly or you can end up in a proper tail spin!

True....its just extremely difficult getting the right advice on here. I dont know whether its the fact that im a newbie or
People are just extremely emotional on here and are very easily upset. Either way im putting an s50b32 in a 318, if you have any info for me it would be appreciated.

I've always found the people on here to be extremely helpful for the most part.

You have to remember that all the info you garner on here comes to you absolutely free, and that the people who offer help/advice do so on their own time and out of their own good will

I wouldnt doubt you for a second but im just telling you my experience. Ive had a post up in the s50 section on wiring and nobody replied in 10 weeks, I had to jump this thread to get any kind of two way going. Ive asked questions in regards servo on my build thread nobodys replied 3months and counting. Anyways, if they weren't replying to anyone at all I would understand through logic.

Searching is your best bet, I think a lot of people get tired answering the same questions over and over again.

Here is wiring info for m5x's:

http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... c&t=158933

I'm fairly sure they are very similar, but someone will probably confirm
