I'll get there in the end with this one..

The problem is when I pull away from standstill, the car almost stalls. If I rev it from idle when stationary, more often than not there's a blip before the revs pick up. It's running rough then particularly at steady speeds within the 2200 to 2500 revs range.
It's been on various machines which have thrown up nothing. I've tried the coil, airflow meter, leads, distributor cap and arm, replaced the persihed fuel pipes, done all the plugs and filters etc, the idle valve, and I'm sure there's more.
Something mentioned to me before was if it runs rough after having a flat battery and it doesn't. Would this indicate that there could be something wrong with the ECU? I had another E30 which was always very rough after a flat battery til everything settled down.
I had the valve clearances adjusted as this was a suggestion from my regular mechanic, but that has actually made the problem more pronounced...
Keep the ideas coming. By the time I get this sorted, it will be as good as new - except I won't have any money left for a new soft top!
E30 325 not running right - more suggestions please!

I had same problem with mine, turned out to be an air leak caused by the pipe that comes from the valve cover to TB, it had cracked, causing the engine to almost die if you stamped on the throttle. It would hesitate for about .5-1.0 secs before picking up the revs, but would be fine if gentley pushed, Fuel economy was also down.PC wrote:I'll get there in the end with this one..
