HI Guys
I need to remove the brake shoes on my E30, I have a 5 hole setup and the way I have it the studs touch the shoes . What I am looking to do is remove the shoes and fit a VW caliper as it has the handbrake working on a ratchet on the caliper and not on the shoes.
Has anyone attempted this before ??

It's got to be a lot easier to sort out the stud hitting shoes issue. Never heard of anyone else having this issue with five stud rear hubs.

I've thought about a similar setup before. I'm not familiar with the VW setup, how well does the handbrake work? My old 306 had this setup, but even with new calipers, cables etc etc, the handbrake was never that great.

Hi Brian
I wish it were, I dont have a 5 hole setup as you would normally do.....
I put new holes in my 4 hole setup behind this I have a plate with 5 holes in it. this adaptor runns about 2mm from the shoes , I can measure up bolts which fit but wanna fit studs instead to save me having stripped holes.
Looking at the turnermotorsport stud kit to screw into the adaptor.
Will see if the VW stuff lines up ......
