When did clifford start making good alarms?
The Internet - It has proven to be worthless, and is nothing but a repository for perverts.

Any alarm is easily defeated. Fit a dead man switch instead! Much cheaper.

I've got to remove one from my Mk1 Golf as it's totally screwed. Owned the same car twice and it's the second time I'll have done this to it!!

+ another one. Kept draining my battery, going off by itself and eventually refused to let the car start. Was much more effective in the bin.bab-91 wrote:When did clifford start making good alarms?

So if not Clifford, then what do you recommend for insurance purposes?

You'll here ood and bad about all alarms but the surefire make that people have issues with is a Clifford.
A alarm is only as good as the fitter that fits it. And I've yet to see a professionally fitted alarm thats been fitted properly!
Any good home mechanicwo thinks abbout the task properly could fit ay alarm better than any professional I've seen. The fact the insurance companies want a cert to say it's fitted correctly is a big con!
Speak to Powelly on here. He works for thatcham. He may be able to point you in the right direction.

So the problem is not the alarm itself it is the fitter?

I agree it's not the alarm it's all in the install. I have had Clifford on all my cars, if the car is not driven your battery will drain due to alarm, if badly installed you will get issues. But if installed properly you will have a fault free alarm. But here's a tip, get any alarm installed just have them fit the Clifford style blue led and you will be ok.
I have always used a company called Guardian Security iN Chadwell Heath, they have shop and do mobile installs as well. Also they have a excellent aftercare service as well, look them up on google and give them a call.
Hope it helps

I've removed several supposedly "professionally" fitted alarms - using ScotchlocksB7 wrote:
