Check/replace the rearlight seals.

Don't park facing down hill.

This is what it should look like Kangman..

I think the centre securing bolt has snapped, but it looks like this is part of the lever: Part number 4: 51258112682.

I would also have a look to ensure none of the other bars or levers have been distorted.

:D Thank you. I'm not really, but messed around long enough to know what the problem is in your case. :D

IMO, the prospect of the motor breaking is quite remote, as they seem to be very tough. The control rods or levers are more likely to break first.

The most likely scenario in your mate's case would be the securing bolt snapping. If you can find a replacement, and nothing else is bent or broken, then this is an easy fix.

I could be wrong, of course....

Take a look at the Real site for your own thoughts, but that's what it looks like to me. Unfortunately, looks like it's part of the lever, so may be supplied (read expensive) that way..

Could be part # 30 if it screws in from the rear, ie the boot side wall.

:D Yes, sure you do, Diable!..

I can get it up, but getting it down seems to be the problem.

I don't think it will be too much effort to work out why it's not working fully. I suspect one of the rods is catching which is stopping it from folding down into the compartment.

To be honest, the car is sorned at the moment so I decided to leave it until the spring. I should also add, I feel the cold and don't want to work in the garage :o:

Gert, are you sure that yours is the right way up?

The angle of pull on those cables looks horrible.

It is, unfortunately, part of the lever, so the whole lever with shaft has to be replaced. You will find the securing bolt/screw is still OK.
so what item numbers need replacing? and should i attempt this on my own or give it in for repairs?

Hi Ben, no mate, that's not a pic of mine but one I grabbed to describe the material cover I was looking for.

Just wanted to show Kangman how the lever was secured. :D

Put some better pics up and any of the broken bits. It will be easier to identify the parts you need then.

From what I could tell from your posted pic, it looks like the lever is broken, so the part number for the lever 4 shown in the drawing would be right.

Looks like the centre piece of the lever has sheared, so is probably still screwed to the back wall of the compartment.

You can do the repair yourself. I don't believe it's difficult.

Note: if you start disengaging the motors there seems to be quite a precise reconnecting procedure that needs to be followed!
