Im having problems with these mounts, well its more a problem with the sump touching the steering rack. Iv turned them around and upside down but still cant get it right. Iv changed the right hand alloy arm for another e36 one, no joy.

I did nt expect problems given there price tag! So hopefully someone here can help, rack is a Z3, engine is a b30 with its own mount arms, E34 sump and of course these special fit mounts that dont work.

Are your rack spacers above or below the rack?

The spacers are fitted above the rack

Is the rack in the rear holes on the subframe? Might just be because the Z3 rack seems to have 2 lumps compared to other racks

Yeah the rack in the rear mounting holes, I see what you mean about the lumps on the Z3 rack. I ll take a closer look it could just be extra material on the rack body that could be removed at that point.
Failing that I think Ill have to have a spacer plate made which will have to go between the subframe and mount on that side as the stud on the top of mount is too short for any spacer there.

Well I contacted AKG today but they confirmed I have the correct mounts and suggest my rack or subframe maybe bent. I did nt think they would be too intereted as it was 2 years ago I bought them. So looking closer at the high lump on the Z3 rack I think even taking some of the high point off with a belt sander would nt be enough as its still generally very close to the sump. I tried a couple packers in under the right hand mount which made 6mm and it lifted the engine to a more acceptable level.
So a 6mm packer plate seems the way forward but still feel disappointed after shelling $240 to AKG for these mounts.
