Hi, my 318is had no power steering pump belt fitted when i brought it , i reffered to a couple of Haynes manuals but neither specifically for the IS, no joy there , i was wondering how i would go about fitting and tensioning the belt, so i was hoping for some advice, fingers crossed once the belt is fitted it doesn't turn out theres a problem with the pump, cheers

Steering must be hard work then...

This should help..

Your engine is an M42.. they were also put in the early E36 so if you're looking in the haynes manuals, its generally E30 for body related bits and E36 for the engine.

Not sure what size belt you'd need, best bet might be to pop into you local BMW dealer and quote your VIN number, they should have the answer.. but buy the belt from ECP, GSF, Car Parts 4 Less etc.. to save on cash..
