I bought a few bits and bobs from a BM dealership over here.

Ordered all new indicators but was told that the left "flasher" would be a few weeks. So I wasn't too annoyed.

The order was placed late August.

I got round to fitting the ones I had received and had a friend pop in and see if that indicator had turned up.

The parts chap emm'ed and ahhed until he said "It's a special order and could be a few months"

Is this normal? or am I getting f**ked around?

It can happen.

I had to wait 6 month for an Alpina steering wheel and six months for an Alpina boot spoiler.

I think Demlot waited a year for a carpet!

I'm just a bit annoyed that they originally said a few weeks, then to change it to a few months (6 to be precise).

Alpina shininess is understandable, not many made etc

8)

but something as run of the mill as an indicator! Bah Humbug

I waited 3 months for a Pre-Facelift Back Panel.

Thats nothing my mates LDV Maxus failed the MOT on rear light cluster not working properly, the Board had corroded, fairly common on this model, 9 month waiting list for a new one, as LDV don't exist anymore. Ebay are £180!!!! in the end the mechanic bodged it, & it passed.

What seems to happen is that the warehouse in Munich run out of stock of what may be considered to be 'service items'....and then waits to assess likely demand before buying another batch....the con is that we may have to wait a while, the pro is that the part will turn up eventually.Usually with a hefty price increase.

But at least we can still get the bits!

I think the munich warehouse is run by a Gollum like figure.
Warehouse Manager Otto Gollum: We wants it, we needs it. Must have the precious. They stole it from us. Sneaky little hobbitses.
I guarantee there is a massive pile of houndstooth it/he nests in!

I ordered my heated seat parts/heated washer jets and other goodies today. I feel broken  Hopefully they turn up before winter kicks in proper.
