Clutch advice please

Hi guys can anyone tell me when putting a m42 318is box onto a m52b28 engine do you use the whole 325 clutch kit, clutch, pressure plate and release bearing, also have heard you have to cut the rod on the cylinder down, does anyone know by how much , thanks Ade
