The car will NOT fail because the springs are cut. It WILL fail if the springs are insecure, cut or otherwise. I;E if they can be 'unseated' when the the suspension is on full droop.

just depends if the mot guy notices, mine had one OEM spring that had been cut and one lowered spring that was uncut, passed MOT as the chap obviously didnt notice.
As soon as i noticed i swapped them out for a patching pair though

Foooking flys with a 320i box and 320i diff
I would like to have a look in your back passage i imagine it would turn me on

i believe they can fail it for an 'incomplete spring' or similar as broken springs are seemingly so common these days.pacerpete wrote:The car will NOT fail because the springs are cut. my e36 failed, about half of the bottom coil on the nsf had snapped. i had spotted it but didnt have time to swap it over, assuming as it was still seated ok and didnt come loose when jacked up.
unfortunately they did spot it and it failed. i suppose the rough and clean bare metal end was a bit obvious though
cheers,
harry
