hi, I have investigated water leaking onto the battery tray in my Chrome bumper 325i Cabriolet down to 3 little holes in the bulkhead on the driver side directly behind the battery tray...
When water comes through scuttle vent at a faster rate than which its exiting out the drain (which is clear), it mounts up and starts exiting through these three redundant holes and onto the battery tray on the other side of the bulkhead....
W hat are they for?? I cant think why they are there? but will block them unless someone tells me that something is missing from my car ?...
Which leads me on to my next question... Iv heard about this elephant trunk, but cannot locate this plastic bit of trim in my car.... Any pics or pointers of it would be much appreciated...
cheers
Water collecting in front battery tray....

Theres holes that are there to be used for the rear battery cable fittings. They are usually covered up though.
You need to check theres not a load of shite in the bulkhead space that is stopping the water draining away. It's a shit design.

Hmm, I wouldn't, I like to get as little water down there as possible. The rust that is probably in there won't like it.
I would open it up and scrape it out.
