Hi Guys,

I have a (no longer) intermittent issue with the central locking on my '89 tourer - for the last week or so, sometimes when unlocking the drivers door, the other doors do not unlock with it. Usually locking and unlocking again fixes it.
But today it's stubbornly refusing to unlock anything other than the drivers door (the boot can be manually unlocked however)

I've tried pulling the lock push button while unlocking with the key and that hasn't helped.

I have two questions:

1: what is the quickest way to get the other doors unlocked ? I need to get fuel (fuel light is on) and the petrol cap is also locked.
I have access to the car as the drivers door is unlocked, so i can pop the bonnet to get to the fusebox and diagnostic socket if needed.

2: what is the long term fix for this ? I'm not really sure how the system works, is there a microswitch that triggers the solenoids in the other doors ?

thanks in advance :)

I know that if you can't get the fuel flap open with the central locking, but you can get into the boot, you can manually unlock the fuel cover by pulling the cover back on the right hand side of the boot and sliding the lock back by hand.
I'm assuming then that you would possibly do the central locking red/black mod which usually fixes such issues.
'88 325i M20, could've done with a sunroof.
