what is the best conversoin for an e30 ? e36 328i?

hi, would apriciate any help out there , im going to convert my e30 325i convertible engine to a newer better performing engine just would like to know whats the most common and cost effective conversion. i was thinking e36 328i ? vanos? also is there any step by step guides on here to help ? cheers to any one who can help

Many people have converted to the 2.5 M50 or 2.8 M52. Also a few S50 conversions done.

Budget wise its not a cheap option for any conversion as there are a few custom parts needed.

Have a look in the engine swaps section on the forum and its covered in detail by many people.

Ill do the m20b28, done it on my cabby and it goes like hell. A lot quicker than my brothers 525i sport
