clutch on way out?

I noticed after driving 100 miles or so today that my clutch pedal won't engage until I push it half way down, and then the biting point had become very low, almost at the floor. It does engage but I literally only lift the pedal about 2 inches now, if that. I'll try to post a vid at some point to explain it better if that helps but any ideas for now? Have trawled a few threads and they suggest master slave cylinder may have gone? It has been fine up until now, perhaps a little heavy though.
