Spent an hour trying to get the locking working again. Just swapped out the module, nothing more. Still no joy. When it failed, the garage just "disabled" it. Im just wondering if they actually removed anything during their "disabling" exercise.
Can anyone tell me what the system consists of from the key barrel to the white multi-plug on the module in the speaker pod. Does anyone have any schematics or any pin detail such as voltages present etc. Im an electronics eng so I can follow what you are saying. I cant see there being too much to go wrong, its only a few motors and rods, its not rocket science. Just dont have enough info to pull it all together.

The Wiki has Wiring diagrams for you to examine so that you can see how it all fits together:

Note C405, pins 3 and 15 at the top left of the diagram. C405 is the big socket in the 'A' pillar where the door loom plugs in, and these two (permanently live) pins are extremely susceptible to electrolytic corrosion if any damp gets into the plug, and this is by far and away the most common problem affecting the locking.
The standard cure is to cut both red/black wires away from the back of the plug, working through the speaker hole, and to join them directly together, so bypassing C405 and the section of loom in the door completely.
