my brake lights are constantly on??

i noticed tonight my brake lights are on constantly on pressing the pedal makes no difference at all could it just be a relay?? an if so which one as i have no manual its an 89 316i 2dr cheers peeps

possibly brake pedal switch located at top of brake pedal.

either needs adjusting, or is fooked.
