horseshoe motor stopped working, so had it off, opened it up, but timing has gone totally wrong!!!!!!!

Where abouts are you? I can give you details of a guy in the midlands, best elec hood repair/sync I know of, will cost you under £100 unless it needs any expensive parts replacing which is unlikely
