Hi All,
Haven't posted for a while. I have my IS back on the road, MOT'd etc.
A few problems, have fitted new battery (background really).
Really struggling to get it up to normal running temp. Could this be a thermostat problem? The engine must be getting warm, it's the same as any other engine, so any advice helpful. Gauge seems ok, can occasionally move up towards the centre of the dial if stood after a run.
Next is a problem at tickover, it's revving and then falling, revving then falling, occasionally stalling. Could it be the MAF?
No experience of this so any tips advice needed. ECU?
Cheers
Jon

Thanks for this, is it a case of replace or repair the ICV, i guess replace the thermostat. Can you recommend one or are they much of a muchness?Andyboy wrote:Thermostat and idle control valve
Thanks anyway,
Jon
Idle control valve can be removed and cleaned out with a carb cleaner aerosol from halfords etc. While you are in that area check for any split hoses. If your gauge sits around 1/4 and rises to 1/2 in traffic (but no higher) I would be happy with that.
