hi folks, the tag on the back plate of my diff has the code 1140A4641S .does that mean its a 4.64 ratio lsd? my other diff has a tag with S391 94. is the 3.91 diff better for acceleration? :?

Don't know about the tag (thought they were all after the first letter, as your 3.91?) but the lower the diff ratio, better accelleration. The diff ratio works opposite to the number, ie higher number is lower diff ratio so any number lower than 3.91 will be slower to accellerate, any number higher than 3.91 will accelerate faster. You lose out at the other end, motorway cruising speeds at near max RPM and F all mpg, so if you do a lot of distance and value your eardrums better to compromise on acceleration.

Cheers
