Hi
I have just purchased a used LPG kit on here and am now working out what to do with it. I am looking at lambda sensors at the moment and there seems to be a huge range. Does anyone have any ideas what I want or how to choose?
This seems to be a cheap one on ebay but I don't quite know where to start with choosing one

This will probably be the first of many questions with my install. I have already found a lot of information on here. Thanks for the help

Most LPG lambda controllers can be set up to use any lambda sensor, but the normal one to use is a 0-1 volt ordinary 4 wire one.
That's the correct type in the ebay link.
I used a new one similar to that one in my first LPG powered E30 for around three years, which was then swapped for a second hand one made by Ford, as a result of me mistakenly thinking the original was faulty. The Ford one stayed there for the next seven years!
Search online for COP11, in relation to LPG installs on vehicles, which will give you the regulations that need to be followed when fitting this stuff.

So slow progress, got a lambda sensor and have sorted out the kit a bit more ... bit daunted by all of the wires.
I haven't a great deal of info on cop 11 but have picked up a few things. Just wondering - it looks like the tank gas outlet will come out of the bottom of the toroidal spare wheel tank. The vaporisor will probably be mounted on the inside area near the passenger wing - how do you route the gas pipe past the exhaust?
Is there a problem with using flexi pipe instead of copper? looks like an easier alternative.
How is the vap mounted? It looks like there is just a hole in the back perhaps where a bracket should attach although I don't have one and can't find any pictures of one. (Its an OMVL)
I'm also looking into mounting the filler behind the number plate but I have not found any obvious solution to hinge the number plate other than really expensive ones. Has anyone on here had any experience with this.
Thanks for looking

I prefer copper myself, but it does the same job. Needs more fixing points. Is there a problem with using flexi pipe instead of copper? looks like an easier alternative.
Stud screws into the vap., and it's secured to a bracket by a single nut. On my first conversion (red touring in sig.), I mounted it direct to the chassis rail, under/in front of the steering reservoir, feeding a nut, welded to a bit of flat bar inside the chassis rail, but this necessitated some alterations to the steering pipes. How is the vap mounted? On the blue one in my sig. I welded a piece of flat bar, about 10" long, diagonally from the suspension turret reinforcing to the chassis rail behind the turret, with the mounting hole drilled half way along it.
The vaporiser must be mounted on edge, with the axis of the round part facing across the car, or the diaphragm, and hence the mixture, will be affected by braking.
2" or 2.5" brass hinges and magnets.I'm also looking into mounting the filler behind the number plate but I have not found any obvious solution to hinge the number plate other than really expensive ones. Has anyone on here had any experience with this.

Thanks Brian for the quick and detailed response as always. I'll give it a go and see what happens
