What cars are these actually fitted to? Have been looking at the e36 325s but there are so many variations with slightly different specs. What's what?

M50 is in early E36 and E34's (325i 525i) M52 is in E36 E38 and E39's (328i 528i 728i) from around 1994 to about 1998.

Yes, I'm trying to gather which models/years it was fitted in.
Same goes for the M52TU, so that I can avoid it.
I'm after a standard M52 ideally.
