hard to take out of gear

hi fellow e30 lovers im having trouble taking my 89 316i out of gear once it gets hot after ive been driving for about 45 mins its fine when its cold an gear change between gears is fine no crunching or wining my gear arm and linkage is completely shot and i will be changing that this weekend but i dont think that will solve the problem any ideas and help would be much appreciated peeps thanks in advance....
