Hi Folks,

It looks like my blue temp sensor has failed. Testing it at both the ECU and sensor itsself and giving the same readings but no where in the region of values they should.

Also at cold I can't get a consistent reading it keeps flicking between 0 and about 6000, I have tried two different multimeters to rule that out..

The problem is now I have removed the brown sensor but cannot for the life of me figure out how I will get the blue one out.

The angle it is at makes it impossible to get a deep socket over the top and a normal socket is to shallow to go over the electrical connector.

Also I only have the flat type of ring spanners. The only think I can think of is I need the type that have a bend at the end.

The metal part of the fuel rail is the biggest problem as it is the way.

Any words of wisdom?

Just done this on mine - you need a cranked 19mm ring spanner - as youve already discovered you wont get in there with a socket or traditional "flat" spanner

I bought one of these :

Did the job

You need to do it quick assuming you're not changing the coolant as you do lose some when you undo the existing sensor.

Cheers Rob, managed in the end by getting the bar that has the electical connections for the injectors disconnected, then used a spark plug puller I had that was just the right fit.

Fookin typical though went to start the car and the battery was dead, must have been just about discharged after the last startup.

So battery charging, fingers crossed once I can start her all is well again.
