Cab electric roof - testing speed sensor input?

I'm working through the electrics on my roof, so far I know all the micro switches work although the ones on the main motor my need adjustment. So far I can't make anything work but before I blame the control unit I'd like to rule out the speed sensor input. Can anyone give a pointer on how to test this?

All I know so far is that there's around 4 volts at the input into the control box when the car is stationary, is that right?
