e46 touring m52 2.8 engine

my e46 2.0 touring's engine has just died it is the m54 engine i have got a spare m52 2.8 engine will that fit in with out to many problems

Not without all the hardware I'd guess like ECU (your M54 will be double vanos)

because i have the m52 2.8 in my e30 and i have a spare complete 2.8 car with a good running engine plus i think the 2.8 is a better quicker engine

Whats wrong with the engine? Would be a lot less hassle to rebuild it

i can get another engine or reduild it but case i had the 2.8 here allready it would have been less money oh well

The 2.0 is an N42/N43 Valvetronic.

If you mean 320i then it's a 2.2. I would imagine a double vanos M52TU 2.8 will go in - the M52TU and M54 engines are very similar.
