Help needed please! M52 question

Almost have the engine in the car, its an m52b28 with b28 manifold. Under the inlet manifold there are two ports on my car, one has the brown temp sensor and one has the 328i temp sender. My question is this, I have the return coolant pipe coming from the throttle, but with no port in the block.I replaced the only port with the brown temp sensor. Do I have to get another port drilled in the block? or is there a simpler way?

Also does anyone know of a rubber elbow that fits the M52 throttle when the traction control section is taken off

Just bin the throttle heater loop, it's not really necessary anyway.

You will need to find out if the traction throttle body is different from the non traction one. If it's different you may need to find a non traction one and use the boot for that. If it's the same then just order a new boot.

By binning it, do you mean just remove all the hoses an blank off any ports/holes? Or I's there more to it, any negative effects to getting rid of it?

After you have taken the hoses off the throttle you will be left with one outlet, the small steel pipe which is attached to the larger steel pipe, just cut it down a bit and weld it up.
There are no ill effects of removing the throttle heater, it needs to be at least -10 for it to be any use

Ok great, just to clarify, on my throttle I have two steel ports, one closer to the inlet manifold, do I blank just one of these or both. Also, sorry to be sponging info, I'm not beside it the engine, where does the other hose(not the one suppose to go into the block) lead to? And should this be blocked?

just bin tat skinny intake and upgrade to the larger m50 2.5 one and gain 20bhp + for around £100.

Once that traction control elbow has gone an M50 2.5 elbow fits.

+1 on the M50 manifold swap, BMW restricted these lumps on purpose. The price of M50 manifolds do take the pish nowdays, ive seen them go £100+ on ebay.
I love it when i spot one in the scrap yard, last wise purchase was £20.

Aye but it's frustrating to find 2.0 turds all the time. Even when a 2.5 turns up the Polish chaps with far more time on their hands than me get there first. Wish they would get a proper job instead of buggering me twice
