M50 manifolds for M52

Is there a difference between the manifolds on a non-VANOS and VANOS m50, and if so, does it effect which M52 it can be put on?

Inlet manifolds are the same, just make sure it is a 2.5 M50 inlet manifold and not a 2.0.
M50 exhaust manifolds no good as they are cast iron and a pig to weld or mess about with
