mate wants to me to help him do his cam belt can ya tell me if there is any special tools needed and if its hard to do ect

you could do with a water pump spanner.32 mm thin spanner,LEFT hand thread on the pump.This would make the job a hell of a lot easier.After that its pretty much straight forward.

Straightforward job. BMW even provide a spring to set the tension.
