How long's a piece of string??? lol!!
What music do you listen to??
Do want volume or quality??
What sort of sound do you think is good??
What is your 'alpine system'?? Just a h/u?? Model?? Amps?? Sub??
Straight replacement or custom fit???
Budget??? You can spend thousands on 'the best'!!!!
There's a million variables and there's always a compromise to get the 'best' sound!!!
No point spending a fortune on speakers if you're just using a mid-range h/u and are going for a straight replacement!!
If you have a decent amp, some sound proofing, etc, it can be worth it!!!
At the end of the day, the best thing to do is try and listen to some different brands/models and see which produce a sound you like - although they will sound slightly different in different cars and depend on the quality of installation!!!
Personally, I like DLS stuff - always been impressed by the sq!!
That said, touring is currently rainbow coax up front and a jl sub, jl amps and sony av h/u.
And i've bought CDT fronts & rears for my cabby, DLS sub and amps, nakamichi h/u - but not fitted any of it yet!!
Plan is to keep it stealthy so standard size front 2-way components, standard size rear coax - will be well fitted with some sound proofing and a birch ply baffle!! (one day when i get round to it!!!)
