If i change from small case to medium case will i need to change my halfshafts for shorter ones or dosen't the actual size of the diff housing change flange to flange.

I did this and didnt need to replace the halfshafts as the diff spacing is the same, you will have to shorten your prop though via adjusting the spline by the middle bearing, all in an afternoon.

As long as the replacement medium case diff comes from an E30,you will only need to adjust the prop shaft length as mentioned above.

If your diff comes from another BMW car,you will need the thinner output flanges to reduce it's overall width.
