ok have used the search function and found that all the wires can be pruned out. on my wiring to each ecu plug (the auto and manual) there are 2 quite thick multi-cored wiring looms within each ecu wiring loom. how far can the auto one be stripped back? they both go into 2 seperate rubber boots at the rear of the engine next to the inlet manifold. shall i strip them back to there or can you go beyond that rubber boot? sorry if this is a repost btw

right. have took all the wires right back. the thick multi cored cable ran under the inlet manifold (which i have removed) and went to the round multi pin plug which would have gone to the auto gearbox. also found the rubber boot and maf!... cant remember the bloke giving me them though lol.
when wiring in the 101 there were no pins 2,3,4 or 20(the danger pin). otherwise its quite a straightforward job
brown temp next. what have you guys done with the charcoal can and its connector? i take it that you can delete the can and vent to under the car and wire a resistor into the plug to make the car believe its not gone walkies? at least you could do that with my golf T.
also there are 2 main battery cables. one is obviously the starter, did the other lead to the e36 fuse box (meaning its not needed as the e30 fuse box has a direct cable to the battery)?
